my couples and families. Whether it’s helping

to help!
I am so thankful for the love and support of my family and friends. I love being a daughter, sister, and granddaughter, but my favorite title is “aunt”. We have 10 nieces and nephews and they’re all so special to me!
But I’m picky about the color pink. I like a very light pink and a very hot pink, nowhere in the middle.
Being married is the best and our marriage always comes first! I married the love of my life, Ben, in May 2012! Ben has really been through the “for better or for worse… in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish” with me. He is literally my everything.
I love the Lord, my Savior. I am thankful for His daily gifts and blessings in my life. He has been with me for all the ups and downs and is there even when it may feel like He’s not.
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh and I went to school at Penn State. You better believe I’m a Steelers and Nittany Lion football fan! We lived in New York for the first 9 years of our marriage and are now back in eastern Pennsylvania.
Disney, Cinderella, coloring, and chicken nuggets (especially Chick-fil-A) – I can’t help that I love all of them, even if they’re meant for kids!
All three are guilty pleasures. I can always find a reason for needing any or all of them, especially when traveling or after photographing a wedding or session.
We had our family dog, Sophie, who was a Yorkie-Poo and lived for 15 years. I’m hoping to get the same exact breed and name her Sailor. In the meantime, I’m always looking for dogs to pet! And pups are always welcome in front of my camera!
Gardening is how I relax. It’s so satisfying to grow flowers and vegetables. Plus, fresh-cut flowers around our apartment from spring to fall is an added bonus.
I may have a slight obsession with mugs. They have to have some sort of meaning or be Cinderella related. (I have 20 Cinderella mugs!) Every morning it’s a debate to choose a mug for my morning coffee.
I own all the seasons and have watched every episode more times than I can count. (I even laugh before the jokes are said because I know what’s coming.) Other shows I’ve watched way too many times: The Office, Big Bang Theory, New Girl and Schitt$ Creek.
Sand in my toes, the sun on my skin, breathing in the salt air, and listening to the crash of the waves. How could you not love that?
I loved playing “princess” or “family” with my sisters in our tree house because there was always a happily ever after. I loved drawing, coloring, playing with Play-Dough, anything that was creative. And then I saw it: a small film camera in my elementary school’s fundraising prize catalog and I had to have it. I made sure to sell enough chocolate and wrapping paper to earn that lime green camera. My dad had to limit how many pictures I took because my trigger finger cost money each time I snapped a picture.
I was studying architectural engineering at Penn State when a drafting class brought me back to my love of drawing. At the same time, I found out I could rent a DSLR camera from school and I was in love. Right before my junior year I changed my major to photography and graphic design. All of this would help form the base of my wedding and family photography business. Photography – learning the camera, lighting, coloring, layout, and other basics; Graphic Design – basic design concepts that I use to picture and plan each image I take for wedding albums, print material, and website; Architecture – one of my main inspirations in my photography; and Engineering – problem-solving, attention to detail, and organization.
I was photographing my first wedding ever and I remember texting Ben, my then-boyfriend, and telling him I had found what I was meant to do! I naturally fell into family photography as my couples, family, and friends began their own families and wanted photographs of their changing families.
