Apple picking could have been popular when I lived in Pennsylvania, but I don’t remember ever going to pick apples… probably because we had a couple of apple trees in our back yard. So when I moved to New York I was excited to go to a farm and pick apples, haha. Well it’s our third fall here and we finally made it to Wilkens Fruit & Fir Farm with our friends Steph and Dave.
Ben scouted out the best trees 🙂
The trees were pretty bare or the apples were pretty high.
He was excited about his “perfect” apple.
He also found two apples that had grown together.
If the apples are better on the other side of the fence, the fence isn’t going to stop people. All you need is one person to jump over.
Steph was instructing me on how to pick an apple like a ballerina…this is the best I could manage. As I was trying to perfect my form (I felt a lot more graceful than this picture looks) an apple hit me on the head.
I spy someone sneaking an apple 🙂
Ben said we didn’t need one of the apple pickers on a stick so he was our apple picker.
Look at all the sad apples on the ground.
We stopped by the pumpkin field as well!
Steph and I decided this pumpkin would be the perfect pumpkin to turn into Cinderella’s carriage.
Too many pumpkins to choose from!
It was a good day!
