Laura + Philip had a beautiful Grand Estate at Hidden Acres wedding in Freeport, Pennsylvania last weekend. Their family and friends surrounded the two of them and braved the July heat to support and celebrate their first day as husband and wife.
The Grand Estate at Hidden Acres is a beautiful mansion with so many beautiful areas both inside and out. I had a lot of fun shooting all the details in so many places.
I always think robes make bridesmaids gifts! They help to make the getting ready images so pretty.
Laura’s mother and sister helped her get into her dress.
There was a random staircase to no where in the room where Laura got dressed… it was perfect for me to get an aerial shot of the girls cheers-ing : )
Such pretty earrings that Laura’s mother found for her!
Such a sweet moment.
Laura with her maid and matron of honor. (Do you remember Jenny from Jenny + Adam? Laura is Jenny’s younger sister and they both got married this year!)
Laura is so petite and cute!
Make sure to take note of all the flowers in this post. Laura along with her florist, who’s also a family friend, grew most of them!! Such an incredible and time-consuming personal touch!
Laura had a piece of her mother’s wedding dress wrapped around her bouquet.
The Grand Estate is so big that Philip got ready in it too and never even saw Laura. Ok, there may have been some coordination between the bridal party and staff, but there was plenty of space to keep them apart until the ceremony.
Philip had his twin brother as his best man. (I was very thankful that they put on different color bowties… it definitely helped me know which one was which.)
These guys were very patient with me and followed me down a big hill in the heat for their portraits.
Time to get married!
Philip had THE BEST reaction when he saw Laura. I think this is pretty much how every girl hopes her groom will react : )
I am so very thankful that my husband, Ben, joined me on this trip to Pittsburgh and helped me shoot this wedding. He sat in a tub in a bathroom on the second floor of the house for these shots. They’re some of my favorite shots from the day because of the different perspective.
I love when I see new traditions at weddings and this unity cross was a new one for me. The outside of the cross represents the man, the inside represents the woman and then the three screws that go in to hold everything together represents the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Married! : )
They were so happy walking down the aisle together!
Another favorite!
After the ceremony we got all the bridal party on the gazebo for some fun pictures.
So pretty!
Portraits in the house to cool off in the air conditioning : )
This bridge on The Grand Estate at Hidden Acres’ grounds was perfect for this big bridal party.
The bridge was also great for some of Laura + Philip’s portraits!
Oh I love both of these images!
Told you the bridge was great for portraits! And we never had to leave the grounds.
There’s a beautiful tent that is set up right next to the house for receptions. Bonus, it was air conditioned!
Fun bridal party entrances!
Oh Pittsburgh cookie tables! If you don’t know what a Pittsburgh cookie table is then you’re missing out.
Mr. and Mrs. Elias!
Those sprinkle cookies were amazing! I think I ate at least five of them : )
I really liked the centerpiece stands, they were simple and different than anything I’ve seen before.
Love that when they kissed Philip would dip Laura!
I loved that halfway through her father-daughter dance Laura invited any other father-daughter combos to join. Our friend, Ted, kind of stole the show when he took his 4 month daughter, Lucy, out on the dance floor.
Philip did the same thing and invited any mothers and sons on the dance floor.
Then the party started! And Lucy put on her earmuffs : )
Matt the DJ invited everyone on the dance floor for a group picture! Plus it’s a great way to get everyone on the dance floor : )
There’s Jenny + Adam again! I love seeing my past couples still so in love : )
Love a good train!
So proud of Ben for capturing this great shot. (I can’t even try to take credit for this picture since I’m standing up on a chair in the back.)
Before I left we went outside for a couple nighttime portraits.
The Grand Estate at Hidden Acres had a really sweet antique car parked in front of the house that they let us use for portraits.
Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Elias! Ben and I are so thrilled for you as you begin the amazing journey of marriage. It really is wonderful : )
