I love when a love story starts as friends first and then develops into something more because that’s how Ben and I began our relationship. Genesis + Josh met back on the first day of their freshman year of high school. Even after Genesis moved they stayed in contact and started dating the summer before they left for college. And they’ve been together ever since!
I met Genesis + Josh in Rockafeller Preserve State Park for their Rockwood Hall engagement session. This part of the park was the former summer home of William Rockafeller that was torn down and is different from the rest of the preserve that has lots of trails for hiking. (I got a little lost in the trails while scouting out locations for their engagement session and ended up walking a lot longer than I would have preferred.)
While Rockafeller’s home was torn down, the outer stone walls still remain. The stone walls were such a beautiful contrast against all of the greenery.
We caught the very end of this Magnolia tree blooming.
Josh gave Genesis the original engagement ring that his father gave to his mother when they were first starting out. Also, can we just stop for a moment and check out how beautiful Genesis is!
These two were such naturals!
I was so excited to find another tree that was still blooming too! I think blooming trees automatically make romantic scenery.
Oh you two!
Rockwood Hall looks right over the Hudson River and with the light right before sunset it was magical!
These two were such troopers when it came to my crazy ideas, even when I asked them to sit in the middle of tall grass. Josh and I had boots on, but Genesis didn’t – Sorry Genesis!
It was so wonderful to see everything so lush and green!
I really loved all of Genesis’ jewelry!
One last kiss for the road!
