If you follow my Instagram then you would have saw that two weekends ago I wrapped up my weekend by shooting a “Post Wedding Engagement Session.” Sounds a little confusing right? Sheri and Ken are recently empty nesters. Their daughter (you may remember Jess + Ted’s engagement session) was married almost 2 years ago and their son was just married this past summer. Well Sheri and Ken were a little jealous of their children’s’ engagement pictures because 29 years ago engagement pictures weren’t really popular like today 🙂 So for Christmas their sweet children gave them the engagement pictures they never had.
We started their session by walking along the North Shore in Pittsburgh.
They just both jumped right in from the beginning and were total naturals!
Oh I’m in love with the lines on the right!
We were a little bummed that the water steps didn’t have any water but when I culling through the pictures later on I was perhaps a little less bummed 🙂
For the second half of their “Post Wedding Engagement Session” we headed out to their house which sits on a beautiful piece of property. I’ve grown up going to their house but I definitely appreciate it a lot more now that I’m an adult, photographer and live in the city!
I think they were a little confused when I took their rings, but I really wanted to treat this like their engagement session, ring shots and all!
Sheri, you are absolutely beautiful!
Ken and Sheri have created so many great spots on their property over the years that it’s seriously a photographer’s dream, not to mention incredibly relaxing! The next couple of images is from the balcony of their bedroom and the view is just amazing…. plus their pretty cute together too!
They were showing me how they had to touch their noses as part of their vow renewal in Hawaii. So adorable!
I think this is my favorite shot!
I love when rings have inscriptions, I especially love “To My Lady.”
Sheri and Ken, thank you for allowing me to capture your marriage after 29 years. It is so encouraging to see a married couple in love with each other and with Christ as the center of their marriage. I am so glad I could be a part of giving you the engagement pictures you never had!
