This was my first year shooting fall mini sessions for families. They were 20 minutes long which ended up being the perfect amount of time. The leaves were perfect, but it was a chillier day and it was windy so by the end of 20 minutes the kiddos were ready to be done. The great part about the mini sessions was all of the families came to me for their Leonard Park fall family portraits. The park had a couple of locations so the families had choices for where they wanted their pictures and I was so happy with how smoothly it all ran. I have to give a big thank you to my husband, Ben, who was my assistant for the day. He helped carry all the bags and coats that the families brought and was always right behind me helping me get everyone’s attention.
The Donaldson family showed up first and I loved the pink coats they had for the girls.
Livia was so excited to put on her new had and gloves and show them off!
The Caponera family were second and we had fun playing in the leaves to distract the kiddos from the cold.
The Forrest didn’t mess around, they were ready for their portraits and we knocked out their pictures really quickly.
I also love getting pictures of the parents. So often they’re behind the camera taking pictures of the kids that they never get pictures of just the two of them.
Katie was actually one of my first brides when I moved to New York and I was so excited to meet and photograph her little girl, Margot.
Both Margot and her cousin, Hannah, are miracle babies so we captured pictures of both of them in the same session.
The fall mini sessions went so well that I’m thinking of holding mini sessions at the end of April or early Mary when the cherry blossoms are in bloom. Please comment below or email at cassadykphotography@gmail.com if you’re interested!
