Most couples are so tired of planning after the wedding that they don’t want to make any more choices. And while they love their wedding pictures it’s overwhelming for them to choose their favorites out of the hundreds of shots.
That’s why I love designing the wedding albums for my couples! I know what moments were important to the bride and groom since I shot them. However, I’m also an outside party who isn’t attached to every single image because each moment seems so very special. Believe me, I know how hard it is. It took me 3 years to design my wedding album (I really recommend designing it within a year) and I kept adding more spreads because every single image reminded me of a moment or detail that was so special to me. I even had Ben, who’s usually a minimalist, go through the album and he couldn’t choose any images to get rid of. (One day I’ll share our wedding album on the blog.)
So I usually do the initial design for my couples and then they have free reign to switch any images or layouts. They can also add additional spreads to include more images, but it gives them a place to start with the story of their day already outlined.
I recently finished Casey + Billy’s wedding album and I really love the additional spreads they decided to add and how well the story of their day is told through their album.
The lay flat album allows pictures to span the center fold and still be completely visible.
This is my favorite spread!
I really love to include the details of the wedding day since so much time and effort is put into planning each one.
Each page of the album is made of a thick stock paper that won’t bend or crinkle. (I mean unless you purposely put force on it and bend it.) I have all printed products shipped to me first so I can review them and then of course wrap them up all nice and pretty!
