On wedding days I feel like a duck in a pond – calm on the surface and paddling like crazy underneath the surface. And while there is a lot of work to be done on a wedding day it’s also a lot of fun! So here are some of 2016’s behind the scene shots.
Loved these behind the scene pictures that my 2nd shooter, Kristy, captured. Also I love that the screen on my Nikon flips up for these kind of detail shots.
Sometimes you have to work with what you’ve got… like shooting in a children’s nursery at a church because it had the best light.
I will climb just about anything for a shot… even in a dress : )
I’ve ruined quite the number of shoes while shooting, but it was so worth it for all of the shots. And one wedding day was particularly hard with rain and tornado warnings, but on the way to the reception a rainbow came out and the rain stopped just in time for portraits.
I was very thankful to have Ben assist me at my weddings in Pittsburgh this year.
This is my let me figure out what I’m doing here face.
Fixing shoes, adjusting veils and fluffing dresses is all just a part of my job. This year also included sewing a bride’s dress & veil, fixing hair and putting on countless boutonnieres… basically you have to be a jack of all trades.
When the veil toss goes a little differently than planned.
We shot two weddings in the snow this year! Brrrrr!
You have to do something to make test shots more interesting : )
Test shots also give me a chance to get some shots of this cutie!
This is Ben telling me he’s had enough.
Sometimes you hand your camera to the groom for a minute to fix the veil and end up on the other side of the camera.
Mommas in a golf cart to the rescue!
Team Adams! My favorite team : )
Any wedding is better when your best friend is there as a guest. Also I think Ben wants cake.
I saw a past bride and groom and another wedding I was shooting this year. And I also matched one of the guests at another wedding!
I’m not a great dancer, but I go to so many receptions that sometimes you just got to take a minute to have some fun with the guests!
I love 2nd shooting for Mekina, we have so much fun!
Some of the perks of shooting a wedding is taking a break while the guests are eating to dip your feet in the estate’s pool, taking home pretty flowers, eating wedding cake, chocolate fountains and driving golf carts.
The last wedding of 2016 was 2nd shooting for Mekina! Woo woo!
Oh I can’t wait to see all the fun that 2017’s season has!
