It was a couple of years ago that I started this tradition with my sister-in-law, Elizabeth. Ben and I always try to make it to our nieces & nephew’s birthday parties, but as I became more confident in taking portraits I started taking birthday pictures of the kiddos for Liz.

Emily Rose decided to come into this world a little earlier than her parents expected. She was due in the middle of February, but was born on December 20th, right before Christmas. So while yesterday Emily was 3 months she’s actually measuring at 1 month.

I love portrait sessions because they fill in the time between weddings. It allows me to switch up what I’m shooting and have some fun with families, kids and babies : )

I love when I get to see my couples after their weddings, but especially when it’s because their family has grown! Over two years ago I shot Melissa + John‘s wedding portraits on the Bronx River Pathway. We returned to shoot their daughter’s, Isabella’s, Bronx River first birthday portraits at the same exact spot.

Oh the Larson’s are such a cute family!
