Lauren + Brian bought a house together a couple of years ago and have really gotten into gardening since then. Like most brides, Lauren was nervous that her groom might not be so into taking pictures. She hoped that if she chose a place that Brian liked, that he might not mind the pictures as much. Brian kept disappearing during their Stonecrop Gardens engagement session to look at different plants and their names so I’m pretty sure Lauren made the right call. 🙂
I like to encourage my couples that engagement sessions are just a time for them to hang out, laugh if they feel like it, snuggle and kiss if they want to and I’m just there to capture it all. I prefer they look at each other most of the time for more natural shot. However, I do have couples look at me every once in awhile to get some traditional shots. Because honestly parents and grandparents prefer the traditional pictures.
Lauren + Brian were such naturals from the start. Lauren couldn’t stop giggling and Brian was perfectly happy to look at his pretty fiancée.
I love greenhouses and Stonecrop Gardens has a couple of greenhouses that were perfect to shoot in!
Lauren’s giggles were my favorite to capture and really give life to the images!
I’m not sure what kind of flower that was, but it was perfect for a ring shot!
Lauren actually works in photo retouching and does some design work so she brought along her Save the Date that she designed.
These peonies were on the very edge of the garden, but I’m so glad we made it to them at the end of the session. They were so beautiful!
Such a stunning ring! Lauren’s eyes are seriously the same color as the blue sapphire in her engagement ring.
Between her ring and all those peonies, I could have stayed there all day taking pictures!
Brian was such a good sport, I told him we were done taking pictures after the peonies, but then I found this greenhouse on the way out of the garden and made them stop for a couple more pictures! It was just so beautiful!
I can’t wait to photograph Lauren + Brian’s wedding at the end of September! I’ve heard some of the plans for the big day and it’s going to be amazing!
