What is your favorite thing about your career? There are so many things! I love being with people on the happiest day of their life (or what should be the happiest hahaha). I love getting to know my couples and their love stories, I love shooting, I love going though my images and thinking oh they are going to really love this image. I also love getting to work from home (I am so a home body) and that I can make my own schedule. I really just love getting to do what I feel like I was created to do and making those I take pictures of feel special : )
Over the course of your life, how many cities have you lived in and which was your favorite? I’m a simple girl: I’ve lived in Pittsburgh, State College and now, New York. Since living in New York I’ve lived in Mount Vernon and Pleasantville. My family and I don’t like change so I haven’t moved much.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in the last year? I think the most important thing I’ve learned is my limits. I’m learning not to compare myself to others and to just do what I can do and that’s enough. Last year I really overloaded myself and because of that my body shut down and I just wasn’t a happy person. I’m learning to set limits for myself and to not let myself go beyond those limits. So far I’m feeling happier and not overwhelmed.
Name two things you consider yourself to be very good at. I’m very organized and I really love to organize things from my schedule to our apartment. I’d also say I’m pretty good at taking pictures, if I do say so myself ; )
When are you the happiest? Floating in a pool or the ocean with my sunglasses on and the sun shinning down on me. Or playing and snuggling with a puppy.
And thanks to Amy for getting this picture of me doing a little work at Spark’s Ignite workshop this past weekend! It was perfect for today’s 5 on Friday!
