Well I feel like I spent most of January in the apartment! I had my herniated disc replacement surgery two weeks ago and since then I really haven’t wanted to leave the apartment. Everything went well and now I’m just in the resting and healing stage. My family and friends have been so sweet checking in on me and sending me cards and flowers.

At the beginning of January (before the surgery) we went to Ben’s work’s holiday party and got all dressed up. Ben helped me shoot my first wedding of 2016 (check out Jenny + Adam’s wedding). I feel like I need to give him a special shout out because he carried all my gear since I couldn’t because of my herniated disc. He deserves the husband of the year award and it’s only the beginning of the year : ) I also turned our dining room into a craft room and made some puppy friends while at Joann Fabrics getting some supplies. And finally my sister and brother-in-law adopted Shug into the family. She was my best friend’s family dog that needed a new home due to changing circumstances and she fits right in with our clan : ) Plus she gives puppy hugs! They’re the best!

I’m sure February is going to fly by, but here’s what I’m hoping to get done:

• Business Goals:
  • I have a good amount of editing to do this month.
  • Website and SEO updates did not happen in January, so I’m hoping to work on it at the end of February.
  • I was able to work through a little of the course I purchased and have been implementing some of it. I’d like to continue going through the course during February, but I probably won’t finish it until the end of March.
• Personal Goals:
  • My Health – I just want to take time to rest and heal after the surgery. I’m not allowed to pick up anything more than 10 pounds until the end of March.
  • This sounds silly, but I’d like to get out of the apartment more this month. The incision has made it more difficult to get ready so it’s easier not to leave the apartment. Plus I need to get my steps in on my fitbit!
• Fun Goals:
  • Baby Shower – My best friend’s baby shower is this weekend! I’ve been helping plan it and I’m so excited to celebrate Baby Weaver! Plus it means a trip home to Pittsburgh : )
  • It’s Ben and my niece’s birthday this month!
