Oh I’ve been looking forward to this for years! I would watch movies, look through magazines and walk through stores and dream of the day that I would one day have a home to decorate for Christmas. Sigh :0) Well Benjamin and I may have a small apartment but I made sure it was decorated for Christmas!
For my little “Christmas table-scape” I used a couple things from our wedding center pieces, my grandma’s cake stand, pottery we bought on our honeymoon in Cancun and some ribbon and twine I had lying around. I bought some Christmas ornaments for $3 and the pretty red candle for $2 and I was done!
Last week we had our friends over for a little Christmas party and I was able to use the Christmas plates that my mother-in-law gave me that her mother got her. I’m so excited to have Christmas serving wear! And that on the right is lactose free eggnog…I am one happy girl!
My quick and easy solution to making things looking Christmasy was tying a red ribbon on it since our accent color in the living room is already green.
I moved the wicker balls (that actually ended up in the cake stand on our dining room table) out of the basket on our coffee table and put in Christmas ornaments instead!
Since we were going to be gone for two weeks we figured didn’t need to get a real tree this year and put up my little tree from college. And yes those ornaments are pink and silver! I also made Ben and me stockings this year! I used the burlap that was left over from some place mats I had made. And what can I say, I love me some ruffles!
And finally our little Christmas village on our window seal. And the Christmas wreath I made! I wanted to put it on the outside of our door but thought someone would steal it…I think he’s crazy, but I do like looking at it!
So that’s all of our Christmas decorations! Clearly I had some fun being a Christmas elf and decorating our apartment.
