This is a special post for me because it’s my little sister’s wedding 🙂 I wasn’t the photographer for her wedding, but you know I couldn’t help myself and take a couple pictures of my own. Maddy + Steve were married at the Montour Heights Country Club in Pittsburgh, PA. Even though there were some bumps throughout the day, it was still their day and at the end of the day they were husband and wife… which made the day perfect! Enjoy some of my favorites from the day 🙂
We had a count down going on since Maddy’s shower and my mom got all crafty and decorated the door for the wedding week.
Maddy got her dress back from being steamed the day before the wedding so I stole it for a couple of shots 🙂
I may have shot her details the day before the wedding too…. and her bouquet the day of the wedding.
Like at my wedding, Maddy carried pictures of all our family members that had passed in lockets in her bouquet. The flower pin was our great-grandmother’s.
A closer shot of all the lockets. She also carried my Aunt Shelley’s purse that she carried on her wedding day.
Love her invitation suite! But I’m a little biased since I designed them 🙂
I really couldn’t get enough of her details!
My dad built a fence with cut out hearts around his tool shed years ago. The fence is a little lopsided now and the hearts don’t match up perfectly, but love doesn’t have to be perfect and I thought it was pretty perfect for their ring shot.
Like Maddy, Steve carried his father and grandmother’s pictures in cuff link lockets.
My youngest sister, Kristina, was Maddy’s maid of honor and she had all the bridesmaids, my parents, other family members and Steve all write notes and give pictures to Maddy. Kristina put them all in an album for Maddy to read at the beginning of the day.
Sophie even got dressed up for the big day 🙂
After reading the notes, it was time for makeup from Tamie. Kristina also did some of our makeup since she’s pretty awesome at it 🙂
Even Stormie, our cousin and flower girl, got her hair done and a few “sparkles” from Kristina.
Maddy opened some gifts from Steve.
These two “cried” when she opened her gifts.
My Aunt Karen, is the best and set up lunch for all of us in Maddy’s wedding colors.
I didn’t get any pictures of Maddy getting into her dress since I was helping, but I did get some shots of her showing our dad her dress.
My dad helped her put on the bracelet he got her for the wedding day.
Then we headed outside for some pictures! (I may have snuck a couple)
I’ve apparently ruined Sophie and taken so many pictures in the past that now she refuses to look at the camera. But for some reason, and she did the same thing at my wedding, she loves to go on or near wedding dresses and pose.
Like seriously?
But then she goes right back to not looking at the camera. This is my awesome family! (And my cousin Jackie, who’s also into photography, took this picture…I may have to hire her as my assistant!)
We seriously have the best parents!
Bridesmaids! Brianna, Samantha, Sydney (Steve’s sister), Maddy (obvi), Kristina, me and Jackie (our cousin).
Love these two little behind the scene shots 🙂
I just think my Grr looks so pretty in this picture that I had to post it. And Stormie and Jackie are our cousins on either sides of the family, but they became such great friends!
After I made sure that Maddy was ok at the Montour Country Club, I ran around and shot some of the details since I had helped with some of them.
My family has a thing for Disney, their cake topper is adorable!
So one of the bumps from the day was that as soon as the bridal party was about to step outside for the ceremony it started to rain. We held off the ceremony for awhile, but in the end the ceremony had to be held inside. It was also beautiful inside with a beautiful view of the golf course and it felt more intimate.
Ben video graphed the wedding for Maddy and Steve (not our expertise, but we managed) so he also took some pictures for me since he was in the back.
They’re married!
Then it was time for the party!
Kristina coreographed a dance for Maddy and my dad to break out into. And yes it included “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)”.
The photographer was sweet enough to let me go out with them at sunset and take a couple of portraits.
I had saw this arch one of the first times I visited the club and wanted to make sure to get one portrait there.
It was towards the end of the night and we realized we hadn’t taken any pictures of the couples!
Love my sissy! And how cute is Stormie?
And it was finally time to dance!
Please don’t hate me for posting this picture, Jeremy and Christine, but you two are just too cute!
Sing it Phil!
Nathan was too cute trying to learn the chicken dance. And my cousins mastered lifts.
I love these little boys!
My Grr with her sisters.
To end they did a sparkler exit!
Congratulations Maddy and Steve! Ben and I are so excited for the two of you and to officially have Steve as a brother 🙂 Marriage is seriously the best!
