I’ve been once before to the New York Botanical Gardens, but it was a couple of years ago when Ben and I were engaged. Plus it was in March so there weren’t too many flowers and it was pretty cold. So I had it on my summer bucket list to go to NYBG this year. We had absolutely perfect weather for walking around the gardens with our friends Anna and David. I of course brought my camera for a “few” shots.
We started in the rose garden. There were so many roses in there that I would have never known were actually roses.
These type of roses are considered old-fashioned roses. They look more like ranunculus to me, but I love how many petals are stuffed into the one flower.
How cute are the cutouts in the bushes with the benches?
The white conservatory building is beautiful.
The flowers on the right are also apparently roses.
The leaves on the left are called swiss cheese leaves 🙂
The water was dyed black and gave a really cool reflection of the conservatory.
The three most unique flowers I saw (the one on the right reminds me of a flamingo’s head):
These were the three most unique trees I saw (the first one looked like copper and the middle one was soft and furry!):
The three spikeyist stems:
I love succulents! I bought a new one at the gift shop!
All the water made me want to go swimming!
I loved the lily ponds.
Pictures of the water lily at each stage.
This pink flower was my favorite! It’s so neat looking!
We even got a year membership since it basically costs the same as going twice. I’m excited to check out NYBG during each season and to hang out in little tucked away spots like in this picture.
