As a newborn and family photographer, I absolutely love being able to come in and take pictures of the newborn and their family in the baby’s first home. The DiChiara family has been a regular on my blog and now that Teddy has joined the family I am so happy to be able to continue to photograph the growing family. His big brother, Robbie, was born in November so stayed inside for his newborn session. Fortunately Teddy was born in the spring and it was a beautiful day so we were able to get some outdoor shots at their beautiful house.
Like most new older siblings, Robbie was not sure about his younger brother, he really just wanted his mom’s attention and to play. One day Robbie will appreciate having a playmate!
Lexie was the original and is such a good big sister. She also loves to be center of attention so I couldn’t resist getting a few pictures of her taking care of her brothers.
After photographing Teddy’s older brother Robbie’s newborn session, I knew Lauren would have cute ideas for outfits. She is always prepared with ideas! I love that Teddy has an aviator themed nursery and she got a crocheted aviator hat and scarf for Teddy that was so cute!
My favorite kind of newborn pictures are the simple ones of parents with their new baby. Lauren and Rob’s living room provided the perfect neutral background with plenty of natural light from all the windows in the room. (And if Lexie could, she would have been every picture! Haha)
I spy Teddy popping open one eye to check out his parents in the image on the right!
We had to make sure we replicated some of the images from Robbie’s newborn session so Rob could have a pictures of his two boys side by side on his desk.
I love being able to photography all the small details of a newborn. They grow so quickly so it’s neat to look back and see how little a baby’s fingers, toes, and other features were.
I honestly don’t pose newborns too much. I really like my sessions to be as lifestyle as much as possible. I just try to get the babies as comfortable as possible and they fall asleep and give me the cutest poses.
Lauren and Rob, congratulations on Teddy and your growing family! He is such a cutie and I hope I’ll get to continue capturing your family as it grows and changes!
