The Hine family is near and dear to my heart because Ben and I met Dave and Courtney at Penn State all our freshman year and have been friends ever since! We were in the same group of friends that met through our on-campus church, Alliance Christian Fellowship (ACF), and spent all four years together as our group of friends lived life together, went to classes, went to football games, and couples developed. hahaha So we were very excited to visit with them and their sweet girls and photograph their Prophecy Creek Park family session in Ambler, PA.

I actually shot a maternity session for them a couple years ago when it was just Maddie and we were waiting on Rosie to make her entrance. They lived in D.C. at the time and we went down to see the cherry blossoms and it just all fell into place! Kind of like it did for this session 🙂

Aren’t their girls the cutest? They have the cutest smiles and personalities and Rosie’s chipmunk cheeks are just my favorite!

One of my keys to photographing a family session is to do it during the time of day the kids are usually in the best moods. That meant the morning for Maddie and Rosie (as it is with most younger children). Plus Courtney came with fruit snacks and would give them each one at a time as a reward after taking a set of pictures. (A little bribery never hurts. lol) She also had some finger puppets and princess figurines that she brought (I have now purchased some finger puppets for future family sessions.) and used them right behind my head as I photographed the girls. All of that combined made for happy sisters that looked at the camera and had fun!

We photographed this outside session just a couple of weeks ago so it was spring, but there wasn’t too much green out yet. Courtney did a wonderful job coordinating clothes for everyone and bringing color into the pictures with their blue and yellow outfits.

As far as coordinating outfits, this will definitely be a session that I’ll refer to for future families. Courtney did a great job and stuck with two colors and used different shades of blue, a patterned shirt, and a textured shirt to bring everything together.

I never knew it but Dave and Courtney never had an engagement session! We were friends with them when they were engaged and went to their wedding so I just couldn’t believe that they hadn’t done an engagement session. Well now they have some professional pictures of just the two of them in normal clothes.

Aren’t they just the cutest together?! Courtney has got the perfect head tilt down!

I can’t decide if these girls are a daddy’s girl or a mommy’s girl. They definitely have lots of love for both and have lots of fun as a family together!

Sister love and secrets, there’s nothing that can beat it! As my mom always said to my sisters and me, “Friends will come and go, but you will always have your sisters.” We never wanted to hear her say it, but it’s true!
