Anybody else have leftover Valentine’s Day candy? I had a big bag of M&M’s leftover so I decided to make them into cookies and share them with friends! So for today’s Try it Tuesday I’m sharing an M&M cookie recipe that uses lots of M&Ms : ) You know how some cookies have a couple M&M’s on top and then you bite into the cookie and that’s all there is, well this one has lots of M&M’s!
M&M COOKIES
Makes about 36 cookies
INGREDIENTS:
1 Cup of Shortening
1 Cup of Packed Light Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup of Sugar
2 Large Eggs
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla
2 1/4 Cups of Flour
1 Teaspoon of Salt
1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
1 1/2 Cups of M&M’s
DIRECTIONS:
Cream together the shortening, light brown sugar and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla and beat until combined.
Mix flour, salt and baking soda in a separate bowl. Add mixture to the creamed mixture.
Set 1/2 cup of M&M’s to the side. Mix the other cup into the cookie dough.
Roll into small balls, about a Tablespoon each. (You can put the cookies pretty close together since they really don’t grow too much.) Then press 2-3 M&M’s onto the top of each cookie.
Bake at 375 degrees for around 9 minutes until the edge of the cookie is a golden brown.
Let the cookies cool on a cooling rack and enjoy!
It would also be cute to buy certain colored M&M’s to go with the theme of a party, wedding, event or even school fund raiser!
