I don’t know where to begin with Shelby + Cody’s wedding day. As their photographer it felt like everything and more so I can only imagine how they felt. They held their private estate tented wedding at the house that Shelby’s family had just finished building a few months earlier.

As we drove over a bridge to the house to meet up with Shelby and her girls we saw this big white tent and I knew it must be where we were going. When Shelby + Cody and I had our first meeting they shared a couple pictures of the house in construction and I could tell it was going to be amazing. They even had a watercolor painting created of what the house would look like to use in their wedding stationary. When the house was completed they shared a couple pictures with me and it was gorgeous. But it was nothing compared to driving and seeing the house and tent in the distance.

 

As I walked into the house it was such a fun and bustling time. The house was stunning and the living room was large enough to hold all the girls getting ready.

 

Ink. Papery‘s invitation suite for this private estate tented wedding was amazing. Wait until you see all the other signage and print materials sprinkled throughout the day. But that watercolor painting of the house was really spot-on.

Shelby’s favorite color is periwinkle. It was perfectly used throughout the whole day.

 

I love the bags, personalized hangers, bracelets, and monogramed pjs that Shelby got for her girls.

I can’t claim it, Ben got the perfect shot of the champagne bottle pop. But it’s great!

Aren’t Shelby’s white pjs and slippers just the best?

 

I painted this periwinkle backdrop specifically for Shelby + Cody’s wedding and it worked out so perfectly for all their details.

While I was with the girls, my friend Nichole was over with Cody and the guys.

 

 

 

 

 

Have you heard of game day pictures? Maybe I’m a little late to the game, but I’m glad that Nichole knew what they were since the guys wanted to do them.

 

 

 

 

I loved that these flower girls were little besties and helped each other get ready.

 

Shelby’s details were so pretty I could have kept photographing them all day. Shelby lost her mother when she was younger so she wore her mom’s earrings, cross necklace & wedding band. I really loved her relationship she had with her step-mother and she wore her bracelet. Her step-mom did so much, she helped plan the wedding since Shelby + Cody lived out in California while also getting the house finished.

Do you see the tent outside of the window? I love that shot with her dress.

Shelby’s step-mom and cousin/maid of honor helped her get ready.

 

Shelby’s step-mom is an interior designer and decorated the house. Everything was so unique and you could tell she put thought into each item that was in the house.

 

 

Cody wrote his vows in his own words for Shelby since they were using the church’s vows during the ceremony.

Such a simple, but stunning photograph.

Shelby wanted to do a first look with her bridesmaids, I think they had pretty good reactions.

 

She also did a first look with her dad out by the water.

 

It was a beautiful day so we used all the time we had to take bridesmaid pictures and bridal portraits outside.

 

 

Those white ranunculus and flowing cathedral length veil make for such a classic bridal portrait.

 

 

I was in love with this veil!

This church has special meaning because other members of Shelby’s family getting married here.

 

I do love a first look and it makes so many other things easier. But there’s just something about a groom seeing his bride for the first time in a church.

The officiant had forgot to announce that they could kiss, but Shelby + Cody didn’t!

 

 

 

Other family members had taken pictures in front of these doors and Shelby wanted her turn to take pictures there too. I made sure we took our time there.

 

 

 

 

 

I loved how the church’s accents on the windows and doors went so well with her periwinkle.

They’re just so happy! 🙂

The reception was at the house so we headed back. We went out by the water and two swans were waiting for us.

 

Such a beautiful view and beautiful bridal party.

How cute is The Roving Bar? Plus they had custom cups made with Shelby + Cody’s dog Theo on them!

Cocktail hour was around the pool with the water and that beautiful tent in the background.

 

So many details! Just wait! I am still amazed at how the florist Third & Lennox got all the installments done.

 

 

Just stunning. Shelby loves hydrangeas and periwinkle so it was the perfect match.

There were hundreds and hundreds of hydrangeas brought in.

Not only was it Shelby + Cody’s wedding day, but it was also a house warming.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I love when there’s a good group on the dance floor! It make my job so much more fun!
