I met Janelle when she first began attending our church, Awaken. She had recently graduated from college and moved to New York from Lancaster, PA for a job at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital. About a year later we started hearing about this boy that her hairdresser from home had set her up with. And before we knew it Tyler was visiting every couple of weekends, coming to Awaken with Janelle and helping us teardown after church.

Janelle is a super fun, happy, always smiling kind of girl. And Tyler may come across as a little quite at first, but he’s just as fun, happy and always smiling… especially whenever he looks at Janelle.

Before she was engaged, Janelle had talked about wanting to one day do an engagement session on her work’s campus. I was so excited when she asked me to shoot their engagement session and even more excited when I pulled up to Burke Rehabilitation Hospital‘s campus. It is a beautiful campus and full of  places to take pictures : )

I just loved these pink rose bushes with the sun shining through.

We actually shot their engagement pictures on Janelle’s birthday! What a fun way to spend your birthday!

We attempted to make it to Tarrytown after we shot at Burke Rehab, but the sun went down before we could make it there. So went on a different day and got perfect weather for some pictures along the Hudson River.

We even got the little lighthouse in the background!

Janelle loves gazebos, Tyler even proposed in a gazebo. And Tyler loves water so we got a two for one in this picture!

The back of Janelle’s shirt was so cute!

I really  loved this spot for their Tarrytown engagement session because it was by the water, it had docks, a gazebo, lighthouse and there’s even Pierson Park.
