August’s Goals

Augusts Goals

Oh July was a busy, but fun month! We went on our family vacation to Long Boat Key in Florida. Ben and I took a trip to Pittsburgh to shoot Laura + Philip’s wedding. While we were in Pittsburgh I got to meet my best friend’s newest little addition, Cece : ) She’s another little redhead just like her sister, Elle. In fact Jess, Chelsy and I were able to all get together and have all their girls together (Elle, Cece & Lucy). I was a happy aunt!

I actually get to stay home and not have to pack my suitcase as much in August : ) It’s the little things! It’s still going to be a very busy month, but knowing that I get to go back to my apartment and sleep in my bed at the end of the night is wonderful. So here we go for August:

  • Business Goals:
    • So many images! They are taking over my computer. I need to finish editing some of these images to make space for more that are coming.
    • I’m trying to remind myself whenever I feel stressed out or overwhelmed how lucky I am to be doing what I love. It’s very easy to just look at when I have to shoot next or edit and it makes me stressed and time fly on by. And I don’t want summer to fly on by. So I’m trying to be intentional about enjoying this summer and the busy wedding season.
  • Personal Goals:
    • Exercise – Well this hasn’t been happening. We were gone so much in July that I didn’t even really think about exercising. I know this is important not only for my body, but also my stress and anxiety so I want to just start walking a couple times a week.
    • Along with exercise I really want to start meditating a couple times a week. I started using a great app called Headspace that has just 10 minute meditation exercises that really help me calm down.
    • Physical therapy is still going pretty well. I can shoot a wedding and my shoulders and neck aren’t killing me the next day. However, working at the computer is still a struggle. I’m getting to the point in the wedding season when my body just starts falling apart. So I’m just trying to stay as healthy as possible.
    • We have some fun things planned with our friends in August. We’re going sailing, visiting Ben’s family and we’re going to a jazz age lawn party. (I need to come up with an outfit for the jazz age party! Any suggestions?) But I really just want to get to a pool or beach and float in the water, it’s my favorite.
