Ben and I met at Penn State and started dating our Junior year. Well of course I had to meet his parents and it just so happened to be at one of their tailgates after a Penn State game. I remember being nervous and I remember Ben’s parents being very welcoming. I also remember his mom’s mulled apple cider. It was a cold fall day and she heated some of her mulled apple cider to warm us all up. Well years later I finally got my mother-in-law’s recipe and I’m sharing it with you! Of course with her permission : ) Enjoy!

INGRID’S MULLED APPLE CIDER

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 Gallon Apple Cider (or Apple Juice)
  • 1 Cup Orange Juice
  • 3 Cinnamon Sticks (4″)
  • 1 TBS Whole Cloves
  • 1/2 Cup Light Brown Sugar

DIRECTIONS:

  • Heat all of the ingredients in a large pot on the stove.
  • Let simmer for 30-45 minutes.
  • Serve in mugs and make sure not to drink the whole cloves and cinnamon sticks…obviously : )
