I have no clue why it took me so long to post this. I could blame it on a bunch of things like too much going on or going on vacation but the fact is that I really dropped the ball on this one.
Anyways, the third and final big change in my life as of recently (and probably the biggest change) is Benjamin proposed on June 10th! And I of course said yes! :0) So the story goes:
As you know Ben lives in NYC and we have a long distance relationship, so I only get to see him usually once a month (which is not nearly enough…obviously). So Ben came in to Pittsburgh to visit for my sister’s graduation party and while we’ve been talking about getting engaged for a while I didn’t think he would do it the same weekend as my sister’s party. (In fact, he was supposed to come the weekend after and he was planning on proposing then but I had asked him to come a week ahead so he could make it to the party, when I asked him I even jokingly said I hoped it wouldn’t mess up any proposal plans.) Ben had suggested we meet in Pittsburgh and ride an incline up to Mt. Washington, an outlook over Pittsburgh, to take pictures because as you saw from the previous post I had him purchase a camera for me (he knows a lot more about the technical aspects of cameras, I just know how to use it) and he was bringing it to me. We were supposed to get dinner before going to Mt. Washington, but we both got stuck in traffic so we decided to go up the incline first because I couldn’t wait to use my camera. When we got up to Mt. Washington Ben let me take all of the pictures (such a good fiance) I wanted and then got down on one knee and proposed! I of course said yes and was so stunned that Ben had to ask if I wanted to put the ring on.
There was a couple that came to the overlook just after I put the ring on and I asked them to take a picture, but I really wanted to tell the complete strangers that we had just got engaged because I felt like I was going to explode with excitement!
Ben got the ring from Brian Gavin Diamonds in Houston, Texas and it’s beautiful! I love the Tiffany setting so he got one very similar but it’s even better because he had a pink Saphire put on the inside of the band behind the diamond. It just makes it even more mine!
I know I take a lot of pictures, but I’ve waited a long time to have a ring of my own to take pictures!
Ben and I were featured on Brian Gavin’s blog so you should check it out!
