I recently had the opportunity to take Beth and Max’s Rockwood Hall engagement photos. With impending weather coming in for the session, it reminded me that one of the surprising things about a photographers job is the number of hats we may have to wear. In this case, it was meteorologist. 🙂
We traveled to New York for Beth + Max’s Rockwood Hall engagement photos. The whole way there I was texting with Beth about the weather. It was supposed to rain right when we were going to start the engagement session. Luckily Ben and I had left early so we could move up the engagement session and capture these amazing pictures. We got back in the car at the end of session and it started to downpour, just in time!
It has the most magical Weeping Willow tree that I love to start sessions under.
Beth and Max have known each other since high school and even went to prom together. Seven years ago they reconnected and now they have a cute little family with their pup, Hariet. So not only did I meet Beth and Max for their engagement photos at Rockwood Hall, I also met Hariet. I’m super excited that Hariet is going to be a part of the wedding day too! 🙂
Rockwood Hall has beautiful architecture and a stone foundation that outlines where the Gilded Age, 204 bedroom, Rockefeller’s house once stood. I love when a location has architecture and a history that inspires where and how a session goes.
I love how the light that shines through the trees in the background.
Hariet wanted to make sure she had her spotlight during the session as well. 🙂
By the time we made it to the upper grounds, we had the perfect cloud cover to get the Hudson River in the background.
I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make sure we took a few pictures of the whole family overlooking the water!
I can’t wait to photograph these two, or rather 3 🙂 at their wedding next year!
