I remember going to Penn State, after living in Pittsburgh all of my life, and feeling like Penn State was big! But now after moving to New York, Penn State seems tiny! I have made some great friends through Ben and our church. But when I went full-time this past March with my photography I realized very quickly that it would be great to have some friends in the same industry.
Let’s be honest, photographers work odd hours and owning a small business has it’s challenges. I reached out to a couple of photographers in the area and ended up contacting Cassi, who then suggested SPARK. SPARK is a group of women photographers who get together weekly mainly for a Bible study, but also to relate as photographers and small business owners. I’ve only been able to attend a couple of times, but these are some great girls who are so welcoming and friendly! I’m really looking forward to getting to know and learn from these amazing photographers.
Thank you Caroline for this group picture!
Last week the SPARK women got together to take some new head shots for each other in Central Park. As the girls walked up to meet me at the entrance of the park this happened…. no worries we’re photographers who know what we’re doing lol.
First up, some of Asher‘s portraits!
I really love this black and white!
Ash can totally pull off the red lipstick, I’m not so sure I could.
Cassi is so fun! This was actually my first time meeting her, but I felt like I’ve known her for years… maybe it’s because of the name 🙂
It was so fun to take a minute and take in everything that was going on around me. I couldn’t believe that I was in Central Park with such a great group of photographers, taking each others head shots… it was a pinch me kind of moment 🙂
I so love Leandra’s shots with the city in the background!
Leandra is fierce, look at her go!
Time really flew by so I didn’t get to shoot everyone, but it was really such a great time to get away from my apartment and computer and have a little fun! (PS – Photographers need to come with a different word then “shoot,” it sounds really funny when you ask someone if you can shoot them.)
