To be honest I don’t photograph a lot of high school seniors. I don’t know why, I have a blast with them. So I was excited when my cousin Lindsie asked me to photograph her Longboat Key senior portraits while we were on vacation in Florida!
Our family has been going on this vacation for years. We have all have timeshares at the same place in Longboat Key and I’ve been going for over 20 years. Needless to say I know the area well, especially right around our timeshare and it’s beautiful.
The week wasn’t looking great for sunsets, it was cloudy a lot throughout the day and into the evening. Lindsie is also into photography and really wanted sunset pictures for her Longboat Key senior portraits. So no pressure or anything!
But when we did take pictures in the evening it was like God opened up the sky and painted the perfect sunset with the colors bouncing from the sky onto the water. We were in our glory!
In a weird weather coincidence, sand from the Sahara Desert was literally in the atmosphere and created the most gorgeous pink, orange, and yellow skies! (Ben looked up why we were having such beautiful sunsets when it was so cloudy.)
I wanted to find another area to take pictures besides our place since Lindsie had a couple of outfits. St. Armands Circle (great for food & shopping) is right down the road so I went scouting around the circle and the neighborhoods nearby. I found some great locations that actually reminded me of Charleston.
Being basically a local also meant that we know some secret places too.
The dolphins that swim by our beach on the Gulf never get old.
Congratulations Lindsie on your senior year! I loved spending some extra time with you on vacation and photographing your senior portraits. 🙂 I hope this year all goes as planned and I can’t wait to hear next summer when we’re back at the timeshare what’s next! You’ve got this, girl!
