Briarcliff Manor Wedding

Bride and groom at alter during Briarcliff Manor Wedding

You may remember Beth + Max’s engagement session from last summer with their pup, Hariet. They’ve known each other since they were 16 and finally tied the knot this spring. In fact, you’ll even see a photo of them from when they went to prom together! They’ve grown a lot since they were 16, they have a house and a dog. So it was only a matter of time before their Briarcliff Manor wedding happened.

Beth + Max chose simple navy and silver colors that were clean and classic. Perfect colors for their traditional white Briarcliff Manor venue.

My favorite way to start a wedding day is with the details. I love to see everything I’ve been hearing about and how all the details shape the day. True to what she said, Beth’s details were minimalistic, clean and (mostly) traditional. 🙂

Beth wore her Granny’s necklace. She had the perfect, simple jewelry setup.

It was really adorable to watch the Flower Girl get ready with Beth, the Bridesmaids, and other family. I could tell she was really enjoying being girly and getting her hair and makeup done.

Beth + Max purposely had an outdoor wedding so that they could have their dog Hariet be a part of their wedding. They got her a white collar and leash. Plus Beth’s mom made Hariet a dress that was similar to Beth’s dress with the buttons down the back.

Also check out Beth’s reception shoes! They were so cute with the beaded bows.

My PSA to all Brides: Please always leave plenty of time to get into your dress, 15 minutes is not enough time. I know that sounds crazy, but there’s a lot of individual things to put on that you don’t want to rush through for pictures & video. Plus you never know when a dress that’s supposed to be easy to put on becomes difficult. For example when a seamstress sews something they weren’t supposed to on your dress.

I love Beth’s mom, she helped with so much of the planning. The day of the wedding she was there to just enjoy everything her and Beth had planned. I had also never seen a fabric like the one her dress was made of. Was it silver or pink? It kind of reminded me of a Barbie dress.

A first look with her father that was so sweet.

I love their wedding rings with the picture of them from when they went to prom on their save the date. High school sweethearts always amaze me because from when you’re in your teenage years, through early twenties, and into late twenties/possibly early thirties there are a lot of life changes and versions of yourself. I always think the high school Ben and high school me wouldn’t have probably even talked if we were in school together. We really didn’t even talk much our freshman year of college, we were lucky enough to be in the same group of friends.

Beth said a couple friends got her this same handkerchief lol. They must know her well because she used it all day. 🙂

I love that Max got his groomsmen robes! The robes don’t have to be for just the girls!

The beautiful Briarcliff Manor! Isn’t it just stunning? I love a white house, especially a white mansion!

I could have gone around and just photographed all the details at this venue. There was no need to decorate a lot because the details of the house are just stunning. The muntins in these doors are so detailed and different.

When I drove up for the Briarcliff Manor wedding I knew right away that I wanted Beth + Max’s first look to be right in front of the gorgeous white mansion.

After their first look Hariet got to finally see her humans and she posed perfectly for pictures.

Beth, you are so stunning!

I really love this picture of Beth and Hariet because it shows off their matching dresses with the buttons down the back.

The epitome of a flower girl from the babies’ breath crown to the family heirloom broach on her bow. With, of course, the perfect dress spin.

Since Beth + Max did a first look we were able to get a lot of the family pictures done before the ceremony. We still had a good group to go through after the ceremony, but it let us get everyone to cocktail hour as quickly as possible.

The wedding ceremony took place right in the back of the Briarcliff Manor.

Such a stunning location for a wedding! If you look all the way in the back you’ll see that the manor overlooks the Hudson River.

Max’s sister did a beautiful job officiating the wedding.

Ben went to the balcony that was above the door where the bridal party all entered the ceremony and photographed this perfect shot.

Married!!!

I always forget that in New York the couple needs to have representatives sign their marriage license after the ceremony. It’s a nice little time for the couple to get a little bit of a break.

I love that the Flower Girl drew in the guest book! It’s so adorable and I’ve never seen another kid do that before!

The cake topper is a family heirloom on Beth’s side.

Let the party begin!!! And they partied!

I didn’t even notice until I was going through the pictures that Beth + Max’s guests were whipping their napkins around then they entered the reception. It makes the picture even more fun!

One of Max’s groomsmen performed a song for them which was really special.

DJ Jay from On the Beat FX did a great job keeping the dance floor full! We were able to talk over dinner and he is really doing some creative and new ideas with his company because he’s also a musician. I wanted to give him a shout out here because I really recommend him! He was great to work with!

Can you find the bouquet? It’s always stressful to catch the picture with the bouquet in the air!

I love that when Beth threw the bouquet it wasn’t just single ladies, it was anyone who was single. Most importantly the Flower Girl got the bouquet in the end. 🙂

Right before we left I took Beth + Max out for some nighttime shots. We actually didn’t have much time for their portraits earlier in the day so I wanted to capture some more photographs with the house and its big columns.

Another shot that I had pictured and I’m so glad it worked!!

Some behind the scenes photos! Ben caught me in my element while he was up in the balcony taking pictures during the ceremony.

I’m always so thankful for my second photographer, Nichole. She has helped me with so many weddings and she is always the best! She seriously always catches whatever I think I’ve missed and I swear she reads my mind because she’s always doing what I’m about to ask her to do. Guests always think we’re sisters, which we do look a little similar and we’re both from the Pittsburgh area – so I don’t mind!

And I don’t know what I would do without Benny. From family photo organizer/wrangler, to dog watcher, equipment technician, runner for water & food, and lots of moral support – he’s my other half.

Congratulations Beth + Max (and Hariet)! I’m so excited for you and thankful for the friends we became during the process. Yay for being married! Ben and I think it’s the best! 🙂
