I love Katie + Julio’s story! They actually met at a wedding in Kentucky even though they both lived in New York. After a big group hung out that weekend, Julio’s daughter, Maddie, asked Katie if she would dance with her Daddy at the wedding. And how could Katie say “no”, especially since she had noticed him that weekend?
I mean come on! Their story is almost as sweet as the two of them! I really enjoyed shooting their Liberty House Restaurant wedding and spending their first day with them as husband and wife.
I started the day with Katie as she got ready. They had the cutest little spread for breakfast and I loved these L-O-V-E mugs!
I feel like the common theme and feel of the day was just sweet and kind. Katie’s bridesmaids were just as sweet and kind as her!
Julio’s daughter, Maddie, was one of the bridesmaids and it was so sweet to see how close Katie and Maddie are.
I loved the matching pjs! They were so cute and polka dot!
Oh I loved shooting Katie’s details! I had a good amount of time to shoot them, but I could have shot them all day!
Katie had this patch sewn as her something blue so that she could have it pinned in her dress. Such a sweet detail!
I am obsessed with these Keds by Kate Spade shoes that Katie wore during her reception. Shoes that are pink, glittery and comfortable are right up my alley! – I totally need to get a pair 🙂
Katie’s father’s reaction to seeing her in her dress was so cute and perfect!
Katie’s father gave her a Golden Book of “Butterfly Kisses” – instant tear jerker.
While I was with Katie, my second shooter, Mekina, was with Julio and his groomsmen.
Love that Mekina captured this sweet moment before Katie and her father walked down the aisle.
These are the moments of the day that I love to capture 🙂 The sweet moments the bride and groom have during a busy day.
Married!!
Julio is from Bolivia and his family was unfortunately unable to make it to the wedding. However, they did video chat almost all day so that they could be a part of the wedding too. Thank goodness for technology!
Julio and his girls! So cute!
While it was a nice day for March, it was still only 40 degrees and we were right by the water at Liberty State Park. I was to thankful that Katie + Julio and their bridal party were willing to bear the cold for portraits.
I love when brides think of little details like having their grandmother’s metals on their bouquet.
I know it was cold, but it was so worth it for these portraits! I love the New York City skyline in the background.
Katie + Julio managed to stay out even longer in the cold so we could get their portraits.
I love the reflections in the Empty Sky Memorial. We were lucky enough to get it totally empty.
Katie + Julio’s reception was held just down the road at the Liberty House Restaurant.
These two are such good dancers!
This was such a sweet moment, since Julio couldn’t dance with his mother, he danced with his daughter.
We went out on the the deck for some fun with sparklers and for that amazing NYC skyline!
Congratulations Katie + Julio! I hope you enjoy your time in Bolivia with Julio’s family and continuing to celebrate your marriage!
