Royalton at Lawrence Yacht and Country Club Wedding Long Island, NY

May 28, 2020

These are difficult times in the world, in life and in the wedding industry right now with the Covid-19 pandemic. It’s gone on longer than we all initially thought and affecting more than we ever imagined. I know the wedding industry is in a bit of an upheaval right now. But I think it’s important to note that as much as couples are wanting to get married, those in the wedding industry, who are in it because of their love and passion for it, are also wanting their couples to get married.

The paycheck is nice and necessary, but to be honest, I just miss photographing couples getting married and joining in on the excitement and joy of their wedding day. Each part of their day somehow being better than earlier in the day. I miss that high and rush of excitement as I get to capture a couple’s first day of marriage knowing that through my images they’ll get to relive their wedding day.

So I’ve decided to go through some of the archives of weddings that I 2nd shot for other photographers, but have yet to share. Hopefully it will give inspiration and encouragement to those who are planning their weddings, even if they don’t know when it’ll occur. And going through these photos again gives me inspiration and hope for eventually photographing larger weddings.

I helped Mekina Saylor photograph this Royalton at Lawrence Yacht and Country Club wedding on Long Island and it couldn’t have a more beautiful and perfect day. One of my favorite parts was the Bride’s wedding dress. Just wait until you see it on her!

As the 2nd photographer I got to go over and hang out with the groom and groomsmen while they got ready.

I love when grooms have details, especially that are customized to them.

The church was beautiful and I love these last special moments with the Bride and her father before he walked her down the aisle.

Now that’s the kind of a reaction a girl wants from her groom when he sees her for the first time.

They kept sneaking looks at each other during the ceremony, it was so cute!

This flower girl was all personality!

Married!!

The church was so beautiful that we did some portraits there before heading to The Royalton at Lawrence Yacht and Country Club.

The ring bearer and flower girl may have stole the show a little bit 🙂

Cheers to their Royalton at Lawrence Yacht and Country Club wedding!!

You know I love matching groomsmen socks!!

Mekina took just the Bride and Groom out further towards the water. We had to watch out for the goose poop and the geese, but it was so worth it for these beautiful shots!

Isn’t her dress a stunner and then the back of it is just amazing!

A couple in love by the water, does it get any better than that for pictures?

I know these shots are a struggle in the moment when the groom lifts the bride and they have to make it look effortless while all dressed up, but it is so worth it for an epic portrait like this!

This was such a unique favor that I had to include it! The guests got to choose between charities where they would like the Bride and Groom to donate money and then they could take a wristband. Plus how awesome is the huge wooden heart board!

Time to dance the night away! And these two definitely did!

This was definitely a first at a wedding reception for me, napkin jump roping!

Love that the Bride joined in!

And here’s a little behind the scenes of Mekina Saylor doing what she does best! This girl knows what she is doing and her photographs are always gorgeous! I love working with her and hopefully one day we’ll get to work together again!
