This is going to sound ridiculous but I’m just going to admit it, I’m scared of birds. Actually I’m scared of birds, butterflies and moths. I can’t help it, it’s something about the wings. And if they get within 6 feet of me I will start to freak out and go completely out of my way to avoid them.

But whenever we drive on the Bronx River Parkway in the spring we see the little baby geese (I call them geese-ies) and I don’t mind admiring them from a distance since they’re so fluffy! So with my 55-200mm I felt comfortable enough to capture them at a distance the other day on the trail. Look at the little fluffy butt!

He was running to keep up with his siblings… look at the little wings sticking out!

Did you know that geese mate for life?

I don’t know why but when they’re butts stick up in the air it makes me literally laugh out loud. I’m sure people on the trail were looking at me.

Then I saw little baby ducklings!
