A Roaring Twenties Wedding The Madison Hotel | Morristown, NJ

March 16, 2018

I thought it was kind of funny that the last wedding I shot of 2016 was at The Madison Hotel in Morristown, NJ and the first wedding of 2017 that I shot was also a Madison Hotel wedding. Although this wedding that I helped my friend Leandra shoot was themed as a roaring twenties wedding! Which is one of my favorite time periods!

As the second shooter, I went to hang out with the groom and his groomsmen while he got ready.

The bride gave the groom a record of their first dance song as his wedding gift.

Since this wedding was in January, the bride and groom did a first look so that they could get their pictures done before the sun set.

Check out that bouquet and her fur! I loved the details!

The groom’s white tux was perfect for the theme and so classic.

She just looks flawless!

Don’t let these girls fool you, it was chilly! But they did so great with all of the pictures outside in January.

Oh I love that black and white on the right! So classic!

Before the ceremony the bride put on her veil.

I don’t normally get to shoot bridal shots like these, but I love them! They’re so classic and remind me of my grandmother’s wedding pictures.

I love all the windows and big chandeliers in the conservatory.

Married!

The centerpieces at the reception were simple, but so perfect for 1920’s.

This was a little bit of a fan girl moment for me! At first I wasn’t sure it was him when I saw him, but then he started singing and I knew it was Michael Arenella. He’s the one who started the Jazz Age Lawn Party with his band, Michael Arenella & His Dreamland Orchestra, that Ben and I go to on Governor’s Island in the summer. I was so excited to hear him sing and play the whole night. Apparently the bride was one of the guests at the original Jazz Age Lawn Party when it started as a small group as friends and still goes every year.

I love that I caught the bride looking at her rings! So cute!

And here are some behind the scenes shots of Leandra doing her thing! I really loved working with her and wish she hadn’t moved to Virginia! She was so great to work with! (And I told you it was cold! Leandra and I were both bundled up!)
